About You

The world of meat import isn’t novel to you. You are well-versed with its every contour. Your expertise extends from spotting product prospects to buying, overseeing logistics, and aligning these purchases with a vast array of end customers. You've always felt a certain restlessness, believing in a more streamlined way of managing imports. This belief has often kept you awake, fueling your ambition to innovate in this field. At Marcus, you can channel this knowledge and fervor into something transformative.

Your versatility shines as you comfortably juggle varied importing tasks. However, your role isn’t confined to execution. You’re the visionary, plotting our trajectory in importing, and your strategic acumen will be the catalyst driving our importing endeavors towards automation and further.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Standardize import supply chain processes in collaboration with the fulfillment team (or Design and implement end-to-end meat supply chain strategies with the fulfillment team)
  • Oversee vendor agreements for product supply
  • Discover and manage offerings to equip domestic sales team with pertinent details for selling imported products to existing customer base
  • Expand customer base by spearheading import deals involving beef, lamb, goat & mutton from Australia, New Zealand & Ireland (ANZI) regions
  • Curate a detailed database encompassing every ANZI vendor with export capabilities
  • Recognize and capitalize on growth avenues on both the buying and selling facets in particular high attribute segments including regenerative
  • Segment domestic customers and strategize targeting for imported products
  • Oversee and regulate the import budget, ensuring profitability
  • Foster and nurture relationships with ANZI vendors, scaling opportunities via the sales team
  • Collaborate cross functionally with fulfillment and product team
